The cable car ride up to Cetatea Deva, is an experience that every visitor should enjoy Quotes Deva. Tourists visiting Deva who want to take a ride on the cable car up to the fortress should know that the elevator operates daily—from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM during the winter season, and from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM in the summer.

The inclined elevator accommodates 30 passengers, and at the departure station at the base of the hill, visitors can purchase their tickets using an e-ticketing system.

The round-trip ticket price is 20 lei for adults and 10 lei for children under 14 and seniors. People with disabilities can ride for free.

The Deva Fortress Cable Car: How the Area at the Foot of the Fortress Was Transformed

Along with the upgrade of the cable car, the area where it operates has also been transformed. The inclined transport system, control and safety systems, and both stations have been modernized, while the waiting area at the base of the hill has been turned into a pedestrian zone.

This is also where the Tourist Information Center is located, where visitors can get details not only about the Deva Fortress and access routes, but also about other tourist sites and attractions in the city of Deva and throughout Hunedoara County. Brochures, catalogs, and other informational materials are available to help discover more about the region’s tourist attractions.

At the same time, in both stations, the technical rooms have been resized to accommodate the new flow of tourists. Each cable car ride operates with an attendant on board.

The restroom facilities have also been modernized, and the ramps for people with neuromotor disabilities have been upgraded to meet current standards and regulations.

Next to the cable car station: the Alley of Olympic Gymnasts

The waiting area has also been “refreshed,” featuring benches, trash bins, ornamental trees, and flower beds. Additionally, the statue group honoring gymnasts, located near the departure station of the cable car leading up to Deva Fortress, has been enhanced with architectural lighting.
