The mountain music

“The mountain music” is a unique event through which has the purpose to promote the tourist attractions of the Hateg region and to bring to the attention of the general public classical music performed in unconventional spaces. After the Mălăiești Fortress, Râușor Resort, the Reformed Church of Sântămăria – Orlea and Bolii Cave, the music sounds performed by the pianistic duo Corina Răducanu and Eugen Dumitrescu, according to an arrangement of Marius Sireteanu, echoed in the Roman-Catholic Church “St. Ioan the Baptist ” in Hațeg and the Karaba Mansion in Densus. The event is organized by the Retezat Tourism Association – the management unit of the ecotourism destination of Hațeg-Retezat Realm, in partnership with the Klavier Art Association and the Inter-communal Association for the Hațeg region.

“When I went on the road with the Klavier Art Association, I thought that small communities also have the right to cultural life, built around the wonderful places we have in the area. We believe that it is our duty to bring to the attention of the general public, whether we are talking about locals or talking about tourists, the wonderful places of the Hațeg region, accompanied by spectacular stories. For example, we found out that in the Karaba Mansion in Densuș, one of the locations of this year’s concert, renowned composers of the time met, and the last piano concert in the locality’s history took place 75 years ago, even in the great hall of the building – historical monument”, says Anca Rusu, manager of the ecotourism destination of Hațeg-Retezat Realm.

The program of the most recent edition included the works: Constantin SILVESTRI – Folk games from Transylvania op.4 Béla BARTÓK – Romanian folk dances Sz. 56 BB 68 György LIGETI – Full-length piano work with four hands Sabin PAUTZA – Fun no.3 Leon KLEPPER – Song and Dance George ENESCU / Marius SIRETEANU – Romanian Rhapsody op.11 no. 1

The event took place within the project “Discover the ecotourism destination of the Hațeg region – Retezat!”, Funded by the Partnership Foundation and Romanian American Foundation, through the Green Entrepreneurship 3 program.
The ecotourism destination of Hațeg-Retezat Realm covers three of the most important tourist areas in Romania – The Dinosaurs Geopark Hațeg and the Retezat National Park, both with international recognition by UNESCO, as well as part of another large protected area, called Grădiștea Muncelului Natural Park – Muncel . The attractiveness of the area is given by the multitude of natural, historical and cultural sites, but also by more than 40 thematic, hiking or bicycle routes. Ecotourism destination of Hațeg-Retezat Realm, the third such area in Romania certified by the Ministry of Tourism, aims to offer visitors a unique experience, through products, ecotourism services to the highest standards, but also by promoting a responsible attitude towards environment and the local community.
