The Grohot natural bridge is a monument of nature, formed by the collapse of the ceiling of a cave and is located in the village of Bulzeștii de Sus, about 15 kilometers away from Țebea. It is considered one of the most beautiful natural bridges in the country, a beautiful arcade, "built" by the water that eroded in the limestone. Although it is not a very visible tourist attraction, the access can be achieved quite easily, the route being not a difficult one, being able to reach even the smallest of the tourists. The access is made from the main road to Bulzeștii de Sus, and in a curve, on the right side was built a gazebo on which is placed a beautifully carved wooden banner with the name the Grohot Bridge.
The route is, from place to place, appropriately marked so that tourists can easily access the natural bridge. The road through the forest is a smooth one, and the route to the bridge can be completed in about 10-15 minutes, without increasing the pace and enjoying the peacefulness of nature. As you get here, the scenery takes your breath away, and in the vicinity there is a cold water spring discovered in 1970 by some mountain hunters. In front, the Grohot stream winds through a huge block of stone that rises between the keys. The landscape and the music made by the water that hits the rocks seem to freeze time for a few moments.
Grohot Natural Bridge is a natural geological site, with an area of one hectare, located on the Uibăreștilor Valley, on the territory of Grohot Village. Upstream of the keys, in a limestone bar, south of the village of Bulzeşti, the eroded an underground road, modeling a natural bridge with a length of 30 meters, an inner width of 10-15 meters and a height of 4-8 meters.
The Grohot natural bridge resulted from the collapse upstream and downstream of the limestone ceiling of a cave, leaving only a narrow strip preserved in relief, which can easily be compared with a bridge. Crossing the bridge involves going through the water, but with a little luck, the water level may be lower and so you can easily get under the bridge.
In Romania there are only two such wonders of nature, namely the Grohot Bridge and the God Bridge in the Ponoarele Parish in the Mehedinti County.
The area is included in a tourist circuit, called the Cheilor Circuit: Ţebea - Bulzeştii de Jos - Podul Grohotului - Uibăreștilor Gorge - Ribicioarei Gorge - Ribiţa - Ţebea.
1 Review for Grohot Natural Bridge, a monument of nature
