Clocota Waterfall is located on the edge of the spa resort Geoagiu-Băi in Hunedoara County and is one of the most beautiful in the county. The waterfall is located at a distance of about 55 kilometers from Deva, in a place where several hot springs meet.
Access can be made in two ways, respectively on the path that descends from the road leading to the city of Geoagiu or through the resort, on a narrow alley that detaches from the road in the civic center of the resort. The Clocota waterfall is formed on the Clocota river, although it is not large, it impresses with its fall and location.
The waterfall is about 38 to 43 meters high and 22 meters wide. It is interesting that the water of Clocota never freezes, and this is because it collects all 16 thermo mineral springs in the area, not only a single stream. According to specialists, the water of the waterfall is pure, flat.
Almost any tourist attraction is surrounded by a legend, passed down from one generation to another, as is the case of Clocota Waterfall.
In this case, it is a legend that was born during the Austro-Hungarian Empire, when an officer seems to have fallen in love with the daughter of a miller in this area. The girl's parents forced her to marry the officer, but the young woman loved someone else.
The love story between the miller's daughter and the officer does not seem to have had a happy ending. The young woman chose to end her days right here, throwing herself off the cliffs into the Clocota Waterfall. Although the legend that surrounds this waterfall is not one with a happy ending, the beauty of the place definitely conquers you.
Geoagiu Bai is a permanent spa located 18 kilometers north of Orăștie and 46 kilometers northeast of Deva, in a hilly area, at an altitude of 350 meters, located in the homonymous depression at the foot of the Ore Mountains, at the confluence of the river Geoagiu with Mureș.
The village of Geoagiu Băi was documented in 1805. In 1885, almost 900 visitors to the spa were registered. The natural healing factors consist of alkaline, slightly sulfurous, bicarbonate, magnesium, mesothermal and thermal mineral waters (29 - 32 degrees C); peat mud, ferruginous, sedative climate. Therapeutic indications: musculoskeletal disorders (rheumatism, neuralgia); gynecological diseases, neurological and metabolic diseases; dermatological conditions hepatitis, chronic colic cystitis.
The ozonated air always refreshed by the mountain breezes recommends the resort for the treatment of some diseases of the nervous system, in states of fatigue, overwork, anemia, neurosis.

Este o frumusețe! Ce se poate vedea in poze, nu poate reda in totalitate frumusețea acestui loc. Stâncile brodate de ape te lasă mut de admirație. Dacă ajungeți în zonă, nu ratați să vizitați cascada!

Un super loc pentru o vacanta de vis…multe lucruri de vazut, mai ales elemente naturale, o statiune micuta, dar linistita si un loc bun de relaxare mai ales pentru cei ce fug de oras…un mic inconvenient ar fi ca, e bine de mers vara, iarna e cam pustiu pe strazi si nici locuri de cazare nu sunt prea multe…in rest vara e superb, poti sa te relaxezi, sa te si distrezi…o sa revin cu drag cat mai curand🥰🥰🥰🥰
